🍲 Cooking Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated

(Click for printable version)

There are days when even the thought of cooking feels overwhelming. The sink is full, the fridge feels empty, and you’re already tired. I’ve been there more times than I can count.

What I’ve learned is that meals don’t have to be fancy to matter. Sometimes, the simplest foods — a sandwich, a pot of soup, or a one-pan dinner — carry the most comfort. They remind us that nourishment is about care, not perfection.

✨ My 3 “Grace Meals” (the ones I turn to when I need simple and doable):

  1. Pasta – quick, filling, and comforting with whatever sauce or seasoning I have.
  2. Potato Soup – hearty and warm, it feels like a hug in a bowl.
  3. Quick Chicken Bake – a family favorite that takes just minutes to prep.

🥘 Quick Chicken Bake Recipe

  • Rotisserie chicken (shredded)
  • 1 box chicken stuffing (prepared)
  • 1 jar chicken gravy
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a greased baking dish, combine shredded chicken, prepared stuffing, chicken gravy, and a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  3. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Serve warm & enjoy!

This dish is cozy, quick, and a perfect example of grace in the kitchen — simple ingredients, little effort, big comfort.

These meals aren’t about impressing anyone. They’re about showing up, feeding your family, and giving yourself grace.

💭 Reflection: What’s your go-to “grace meal” when life feels too heavy for cooking?
