Week 4: Shoulder & Neck Release

“Tension is a whisper asking you to rest.”

This week’s Move with Grace focus is all about gentle release — easing the tension that builds up in our shoulders and neck from stress, sitting, and everyday life.

It’s amazing how much we carry without realizing it — the weight of worry, the pull of posture, the quiet strain of doing and doing.
These small, seated movements are designed to help you let go, breathe deeper, and find space again in your body and mind.

Gentle Shoulder & Neck Routine

You can do this right from your chair — no equipment, no rush, just you and a few moments of care.

  1. Shoulder Rolls:
Sit tall. Lift your shoulders up toward your ears, then slowly roll them back and down.
    Repeat 5–10 times, breathing deeply.

  2. Neck Stretch:
Drop your right ear toward your right shoulder and breathe into the stretch.
Hold for a few seconds, then switch sides.

  3. Chin Tuck:
Sit tall and gently tuck your chin toward your chest, feeling the back of your neck lengthen.
Hold for a count of 5, release, and repeat.

  4. Shoulder Squeeze:
Draw your shoulder blades gently together behind you, then release.
    Repeat 5–10 times.

  5. Mindful Pause:
Take one deep breath in, one slow breath out, and thank your body for all that it carries for you.

Mindful Movement Reflection

Sometimes, movement isn’t about getting stronger — it’s about getting softer.
Letting go of what’s heavy.
Creating room to breathe again.

You don’t have to push to find progress.
You just have to pause — and let grace move through you.

Grace Note

Your body doesn’t need perfection — it needs kindness.
Every gentle stretch, every slow breath, every mindful moment is an act of care.
