Week 5: Gentle Wake-Up Flow

“Movement is the quiet language of renewal.”

After a week of rest and recovery, it’s time to reconnect with your body — softly and without pressure. This week’s Move with Grace focus is on gentle movement, the kind that wakes you up from the inside out and helps your body remember how good it feels to move.

This isn’t about burning calories or chasing goals.
It’s about finding small moments of movement that restore energy, release stiffness, and invite peace back into your body.

If you’ve been tired, sick, or just feeling off balance, this flow is your fresh start — slow, simple, and full of grace.

Gentle Wake-Up Flow (Chair Routine)

You’ll just need a sturdy chair and a few quiet minutes.

1. Seated Shoulder Circles
Sit tall, with your feet flat on the floor and hands resting gently on your thighs.
Lift your shoulders up toward your ears, roll them back, and down.
Repeat slowly 5 times backward, then 5 times forward.
Feel the weight of your week roll away with each circle.

2. Reach and Sway
Inhale as you lift your arms overhead.
Exhale as you gently lean to one side, feeling a stretch through your ribs.
Return to center and repeat on the other side.
Think of it as waking up your breath, not just your body.

3. Seated Twist
Place your right hand on your left knee.
Gently twist your upper body as you look over your left shoulder.
Hold for a slow breath in, and exhale as you return to center.
Switch sides.
Twists help your spine feel alive again — one small turn at a time.

4. Ankle Circles
Lift one foot slightly off the ground.
Rotate your ankle slowly 5 times clockwise, then 5 times counterclockwise.
Switch legs.
It’s easy to forget how much energy is stored in the smallest movements.

5. Neck Release
Drop your chin gently toward your chest.
Hold for two deep breaths, then lift slowly.
Roll your head softly side to side, releasing any leftover tension.
End this moment by letting your body thank you for showing up.

Grace Tip:

Try doing this routine while your morning tea or coffee brews.
It’s a lovely reminder that movement doesn’t have to wait for motivation — just a bit of mindfulness.

Grace Reflection:

You don’t need to push to make progress.
You just need to honor where you are — and take the next gentle step.

Each breath, each stretch, each quiet pause is a way of saying,
“I’m still here. I’m still moving. I’m still becoming.”
